Celebrate a life’s journey with a painting. Celebrate the heritage of a family’s historical journey with paint from the places your ancestors once lived. Make an Ancestral Earth Scape. Your own ideas and requests can be discussed during the consultation. The composition could be a simple abstraction of a landscape, or a symbolic map as seen in aboriginal art.

What makes a commission by Cea so unique is the fact that you can choose earth from your own places of significance. Perhaps a painting for an octogenarian with earth taken from special places and times in their life, or to mark a significant occasion like a wedding bringing different earth together in a new place.

Alternatively, pigments can be taken from her extensive collection of earth from around the world, for example, the fiery yellows and reds of Southern Spain or the very soft and fine, sparkling golden sand stone of Glastonbury Tor. Soft pink powdery shale from a Texan cave, once a crystal mine sacred to the American Indians or a deep purple from Brazil. Soft yellows and creams through to oranges and dark reds from an ochre quarry in Southern France, and of course the rich red of the Devon earth.

Previous commissions include: Someone who came on holiday to Dartmoor and was enjoying walking with her dog, saw a prism sketch using bands of colour, and asked for a larger version on canvas. The resulting picture is in her house, Dartmoor profiles made by overlapping stripes with pigment from the moor. A yoga-dance therapist asked Cea to use her feet and paint whilst dancing; creating a unique picture that holds centrepiece in the family-home.
